About Rick
Human resources has been Rick’s passion for over 20 years.  

He has been privileged to successfully work in a variety capacities within the field of human resources.

Major portfolios have included:

• labour and employee relations (including contract negotiations)
• arbitration
• Board of arbitration nominee
• recruitment
• strategic policy development 
• design and implementation of performance management systems
• organizational design and restructuring
• career counselling and outplacement
• complaint investigation including human rights and harassment investigations
• training and organizational development

Rick’s diverse background has kept him passionate about the field of HR and as a lifelong learner he has kept abreast of new and exciting developments in HR.  He has been a guest speaker at numerous events and functions and is also a part-time College instructor.  Teaching has given him the opportunity to work with some incredible students who are just beginning their HR journey.

Rick is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), as designated by HRPA which is recognized across Canada as the symbol of HR Excellence.  In 2008 Rick was also elected as Chapter President of the Human Resources Professionals Association for Algoma.
